The pre-match details ahead of kick-off at Stadium MK

In taking on Cambridge United at Stadium MK this afternoon, MK Dons’ chances of getting the three points they so desperately need will not come easy.

Mark Bonner’s men picked up a point on Tuesday night when they took on fellow strugglers Morecambe, drawing them level on points with Dons in 22nd spot.

Their form though has seen them win just once since the turn of the year, picking up six points since Boxing Day.

Dons meanwhile haven’t had great form in that time either, but have picked up twice as many points over the U’s. They have lost four of the last five though, putting in some poor showings recently against Lincoln City and Port Vale.

Cambridge made a flying start to the season though, beating Dons 1-0 at the Abbey Stadium. To date, it’s their only win over Dons in five attempts, losing the other four.

The U’s haven’t had any luck at Stadium MK in previous visits though, losing 6-0 in 2019 and suffering a 4-1 beating last season, thanks to doubles from Scott Twine and Max Watters.

Mark Jackson has hinted at changes to his starting line-up, particularly in attack after some promising substitute appearances from the likes of Will Grigg, Nathan Holland and Max Dean of late. Jonathan Leko remains suspended, serving the second of a three-game ban after violent conduct in the draw with Lincoln.

Keith Stroud will take charge of the game. In 28 games so far, mostly in the Championship, Mr Stroud has shown 143 yellow cards, three reds and awarded five penalties. Dons fans need to look back to 2016 for the last time he refereed the side, taking control of the 3-2 defeat to Ipswich at Portman Road in the Championship.

Sam Lewis and Carl Fitch-Jackson will run the lines with Fourth Official Robert Lewis.

Bookmakers have Dons at 21/20 to win the game, Cambridge at 13/5 and12/5 the draw.
