It re-opens next Monday - April 5 - and will have Amazon lockers and a Costa Coffee Express section as well energy efficient lighting and refrigeration and new self-scan tills
The 5,000 sq ft store runs on 100% renewable electricity, and supports around 20 local jobs.
Ragesh Hindocha, Co-op Area Manager, said: “The store has a great new look. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to carry out such a significant investment to transform the store - we have worked to develop the range, choice, products and services locally that will create a really compelling offer in the community.
“Co-op is committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally and so we would also want customers to know that they can become a member of the Co-op. In addition to unlocking additional value and personalised offers, our members make a difference to local causes. Co-op donates 2p in every pound to community causes every time a member swipes their Membership card when buying own-branded products – so by shopping at the Co-op our members are helping to make good things happen in the community.”
