New rooftop bar, shops, restaurants and workspace opens at Unity Place, Milton Keynes

Where workplace meets wellbeing, where business is anything but corporate, and great nights out are served up by celebrity chefs … the long-awaited landmark visitor destination, Unity Place, is now open to the public.

Directly opposite MK Station Square, the purpose-built green workplace, food and retail venue boasts a vibrant Urban Food Market with multiple street food vendors, cafés, Santander Work Café, a rooftop terrace bar and a restaurant run by new celebrity chef, Dipna Anand.

This latest edition to the Milton Keynes day-and-night scene has sustainability at its heart, but ensures flexibility and fun are available whatever you have planned. Whether you want to work somewhere funky, catch up with friends or paint the town red, there’s something just for you.

Practicalities like a hair cut, or a nip to the corner shop can happen here, but there’s also some pretty innovative offerings on site too. It all blends the lines between must-do and can’t wait, creating something pretty unique.

Take the Baker’s Room, for example, which bakes up delights for a coffee-on-the go. Any surplus bread doesn’t go to waste as it’s repurposed on site in its own microbrewery from Toast Brewing, found in the Dipna Anand Restaurant, and served across the building. This combination of cutting the foodie mile and connectivity all tie in to the sustainable ethos the developers are aiming for, and which they’re convinced there’s an appetite for in Milton Keynes.

Banking and business side-by-side

In the upper floors, Unity Place partners with co-working provider x+why who provide flexible spaces for members, while the ground floor public Santander Work Café has co-working desks and bookable meeting rooms for customers and public to use, as well as a branch for its customers to access their everyday banking needs.

What’s on the menu?

Dipna Anand creates her authentic Punjabi and South Indian cuisine alongside a selection of traditional favourites with a menu comprising of revisited classics; her well-loved curries alongside some new and unexpected menu items; and a grill that serves tandoori lamb chops, salmon, chicken and paneer tikka, as well as lamb shish.

After hours fun

All work and no play isn’t a recipe for success … meet friends after work for a Dipna cocktail or mocktail, or go super fancy at the Unity Sky Lounge rooftop terrace where sustainably sourced British tapas dishes and desserts change it up from the everyday.

A work-life balance is about more than just flexi time, it’s about making life simple, and happening right where you want it to be. Take public transport and the station is just minutes away, or park your bike up right round the building. There’s plenty of nearby parking, including two hours for free (plus disabled spaces) right at the front.
